For the first time in the programs history, varsity wrestling beat Centennial and Arbor View, all in a two week span. The team beat Centennial 37-29 on January 16th, with freshmen, John Villano and Sebastian Marino performing well, according to Coach Gonzales. Along with seniors, Jacob Bogdanovich and Connor Bourne, who defeated Ike Edwards, a state place winner last season, to help secure the victory.

“When we started, we were down 24-0, but then we had a big pin by a freshman [John Villano] to get our point scoring going, but overall it was a great effort by the team”, said Gonzales.

When the team played Arbor View the following week on January 23rd, they proceeded to win 47-27, victorious in 9 out of 14 matches. The team currently sits third in the Northwest League behind Shadow Ridge and Cimarron-Memorial at a record of 8-5 overall, and 3-2 in league play.
