Test-prep courses available for upperclassmen
Upperclassmen are offered the opportunity to partake in a 5-week SAT and/or ACT prep course to help prepare students for the challenging test. Junior, Taylor Goodell, took the ACT course over the summer and feels more prepared for the test because of the class.
“Even though it was during the summer, super long, and time consuming, I feel like I would feel pretty lost if I didn’t take it considering I didn’t know how to study for it,” said Goodell.
Keywali Anderson, junior, has not taken a test-preparation class this year but plans on taking the course in order to better his test scores. “I plan on getting a tutor because I believe a tutor will help improve my chances at doing well on the test,” said Anderson.
Senior, Colin Goorijian, has already taken his SAT but plans on taking it again. Goorijian mentions that he took the test not knowing what to expect and after receiving his scores, he signed up for the SAT course hoping to improve them.
“I am taking the SAT this Saturday. Considering I have already taken the test, I took the course to better my scores and I feel confident now since my last attempt was a nightmare,” said Goorijian.
With the end of the first semester around the corner, seniors are getting closer to the end of their high school career. Time is limited to take the challenging test for upper classmen, and our school administrators suggest getting help from a tutor to improve the test scores.
