Donald Trump wins the 2016 Presidential election
The 2016 Presidential election has finally named its winner, Donald Trump. After a heated and very controversial election, Trump beat Hillary Clinton with 276 electoral votes to 218 as of 11:45 P.M. on November 8, 2016 PST.
Both nominees faced intense scrutiny from the general public, as Hillary Clinton gained negative attention for her suspicious emails, alleged abandoning of Americans in Benghazi, and numerous lies about her stances on many laws in the United States. Donald Trump, on the other hand, came under fire for his attacks and insults toward minority groups and fellow opponents, while also receiving backlash for sexual assault accusations, not presenting his income taxes, and claiming global warming was a hoax by the Chinese.
During the election, Donald Trump took the lead by winning swing states Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and North Carolina. He then secured his win by winning Wisconsin, Utah, Idaho, and Pennsylvania.
Now that a final decision has been made, as American students we must now accept that Donald Trump will be President for the next four years, and persevere as a country.
