The tennis team celebrating their season at senior night

Although the season is over for both teams, there is still a girls doubles team playing at Individual Regionals, with a chance to be the first ever Faith Tennis State Qualifier in 4A.

To start with, the boys finished in a tie for second place in the league, compiling a 12-6 overall record. Included in that record are wins over Foothill, Centennial, and Desert Pines, who are all ranked teams. Leading way was Sophomore Max Blum, who was 36-10 on the year at first singles. Junior, Ryan Brooks added 27 wins, mostly at doubles, and also adding to the record with at least 20 wins were Kyle Avery ’17, Donovan Evangelio ’18, Jonah Grepke ’18 and Michael Markantonis ’18, and Jack Marshall ’19.  Overall the boys team finished ranking in at #7 in the final Southern Nevada Tennis Coaches Association poll, “which is quite an accomplishment for our first year back in the 4A division” said Coach Keith Fridrich.

The girls were 15-4 this season, and all four losses came to the girls who were in the State Finals last year. This season, the girls team defeated archrival, The Meadows, by a 12-6 score. Leading the way for the girls team was Michelle Reiss ’17 had a record of 16-4, but sadly ending her season with an injury. Dina Ciulla ’17 had 31 wins, Paige Erlanger ’17 had 30 wins, and Jayden Mattson ’17, along with Kennedy Barr ’20, both finished 34-5, and also Terrah Miura, who completed something never before in Faith tennis, finished her season with a record of 15-0.

Highlighting the Crusader effort at Individual Regionals, the doubles team of Madison Foley and Summer Stadtlander, have qualified for the Semifinals.
