Crusaders on the prowl against Panthers
Joshua Hong (’18) and Elijah Kothe (’18) both prepare for an offensive play against Panther defense
Friday, September 30, the Crusader football team took on the Palo Verde Panthers at 7 p.m. at Palo’s field. The Crusaders took their first 4A victory with a tight score of 26-21 against the Panthers. Sagan Grounauer (’19) led the team to victory with a strong arm and good offensive partner; Elijah Kothe (’18) who’s TD catches scored 18 points for the Crusaders. Coach Marty said, “I am mostly happy for the coaches and the players, but just in general I think for the school and for all the perceptions around the community it was a bigger win than our guys even know so I am proud of them and it is now time to move on to Legacy.”
With a confident win against the Panthers the Crusaders will be back on their home field at 7 p.m. on October 7. They play the Legacy Longhorns.
