The Ellen DeGeneres show comes to Las Vegas
The Ellen DeGeneres Show started in 2001 and is currently in the middle of its’ 13th season. The show was created by and stars Ellen DeGeneres as she interviews celebrities, plays games, and surprises fans in need.
DeGeneres and her partner Chevy, takes four excited ladies on a road trip in a 2016 Malibu, the first stop- Las Vegas! The night before their stop in Las Vegas Ellen posted on Twitter and Instagram “Hello, Vegas! I don’t know if you’re on the Strip, tomorrow, but if you’re in front of Caesar’s Palace at 2pm, you’re gonna be on my show.”
Hundreds of fans lined up around the fountain at Caesar’s palace hoping to catch some camera time and a view for one of the most popular games on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, “Know or Go!”
“I heard about it from my sister and I came here because I was extremely excited ,” said Elizabeth.
From locals to foreign tourists, Ellen had a diverse crowd. Kari was visiting from Canada when she heard that Ellen was in town. “I am a big Ellen fan, we get to watch her in Canada,“ said Kari.
Fans yelled and cheered hoping to be chosen to play. Ellen’s staff chose a large amount of fans and continued to make the group smaller after talking to them. The final group of girls was dispersed in different parts of the audience with hopes of having their names called when the show went live.
Once the Ellen DeGeneres show was live DeGeneres appeared on televisions from her studio in Los Angeles for the crowd to see. With help of Jeannie Klisiewicz, a former fan and current employee of DeGeneres, three lucky ladies’ names were announced to play “Know or Go”!
On stage with Ellen, the ladies were asked trivia questions by DeGeneres and once one answered a question wrong they would be dropped into the stage. Two of the three women answered their second question wrong and were dropped quickly into the stage. Donna, a Las Vegas local, was the winner of the game, and a new 2016 Chevy Malibu. Donna’s excitement was contagious and the crowed cheered and danced as Donna climbed inside her new car.
