Say goodbye to Homestretch
Wednesday January 20 the Clark County Board of Commissioners all voted “yea” to the vacate of Home Stretch Blvd. in between Hualapai and Sand Stone Bluff Street. Faith Lutheran will have to meet a few requests of the city including emergency vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrian crossings.
Around fifty people signed up to speed on the topic and each had three minuets to state their opinion. Many neighbors of the surrounding area were present to show their concern about the vacation and parents shared their hope for their children’s safety.
Dr. Buuck, CEO of Faith Lutheran, promoted that student safety is most important, not the amount of money that will be needed to pay for the destruction of the road.“The main benefit to our students is increased safety – both because we won’t have cars driving through the middle of our campus and because the entire 49 acres will be fenced in,” said Dr. Buuck
The vacating of the road is projected to be completed in two years. Faith Lutheran has many supporters and it was clear to see that the acting of Home Stretch Boulevard is in the best interest of both students and neighbors.
