The Grand Graduation
This spring, three members from the Mark 10:14 program here at Faith Lutheran will be graduating from high school. Mark 10:14 is an excellent program that allows students with disabilities to participate and be apart of high school as any other child would. The Rhodes family founded the program with the help of administration because “[they] were feeling like God wanted [them] to pursue this for all with special needs and the student body as a whole,” shared Shelley Rhodes, parent of senior Clayton Rhodes.
Clayton Rhodes, Luke Kecman, and William (Billy) Wolfbrant will be graduating from the program this spring along with all other seniors. This is a very rewarding experience for all of their families, teachers and students that were involved in their lives in their time at Faith Lutheran. “Its so exciting to be able to see how much we have watched them grow and prepared them for life outside of school as they graduate,” says Mark 10:14 teacher Mrs. Segalla.
The future graduates have achieved skills in the Mark 10:14 program and also at Faith Lutheran that will help them as they grow older and mature. The Mark 10:14 teachers and mentors have made their experience in the program worthwhile and have prepared them for their lives ahead.
“I am very excited and proud to graduate because I feel like I have spread kindness and learned so much from students around me,” said Luke Kecman. Students at Faith Lutheran have supported all students in Mark 10:14 and have included them in every activity during senior year and high school overall. Seeing Luke, Billy and Clayton graduate from high school this spring will be satisfying and sentimental to all involved in their lives during their time at Faith Lutheran.
