Rooting for Ruettiger

Rudy Ruettiger, holder of one of the most famous and inspirational football stories of all time “Rudy”, lives right here in Las Vegas. Even more impressive than that, his very own  daughter, Jessica Ruettiger, attends Faith Lutheran as a sophomore.

Jessica was born and raised by her mother and father along with her younger brother here in Las Vegas. Her family is one of the few who doesn’t live with most of her father’s thirteen brothers and sisters in the east within Chicago or Baltimore. Jessica has already made an impact in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles through her dancing, singing, and acting careers.

Joining the theatre program at the extraordinarily young age of three, Jessica has already showcased an enormous amount of shows both at Faith and during her earlier years in LA.

Her first show was when she was only three years old She has been working with dancing, singing, and of course her acting career for over twelve years now. Jessica has performed ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop dance, both on and off the stage.

Although her dance and acting careers are separated at points, the two easily come together and are extremely complimentary to each other when on the stage. This has allowed Jessica to perform in both regular theatrical performances as well as many musicals throughout the years.

In Los Angles, Jessica worked on television sets as well as in recording studios before coming back to Las Vegas. Due to her constant traveling with both her own careers and her father’s inspirational speeches, Jessica was homeschooled until she came to Faith Lutheran as a freshman in high school.

During her time at Faith, Jessica has participated in Legally Blonde, Peter Pan, Alice’s Wonderland, The Drowsy Chaperone, and is currently in rehearsal for Shrek the Musical.

As a rising actress at Faith, Jessica loved her role as,”Janet in the Drowsy Chaperone. It was actually my favorite role I’ve ever done,” said Jessica,” I could do everything I needed to; I could dance, I could act, and I could sing. It was my first big break since joining Faith which made it a lot of fun.”

Jessica has hopes of continuing her acting career throughout the rest of her life after attending college in either Los Angeles or New York City.

Although Jessica was effectively thrown into acting at such a young age, she really started loving it right off the bat. “I love the thrill and the joy of performing and making people enjoy your performance, that’s the most important thing to me,” said Jessica.

“My dad’s story has always been a huge inspiration to me,” said Jessica,” even though he never expected me to join theatre, he’s always supported me through everything I do and I attribute a lot of what I’ve accomplished to him.”
