Where Did All The CraZies Go?
From fan busses to morph suits to painted faces, the Crusader CraZies went all out last year. Senior Justin Daraban said, “I think that we have less craZies because the seniors were pretty craZie last year and they all graduated.”
Last year there were fan busses for almost every sporting event, but why haven’t there been any signup sheets for fan buses recently? “There is no more fan busses because people simply don’t want to go,” said Dakota Greenwalt, senior.
Mrs. Buuck said, “It’s expensive to run a bus and pay a driver, if we don’t have twenty-five [students], it’s not cost effective. We have trouble getting enough [students] to commit to riding a bus to a game.”
It seems that students are letting their ego get in the way of going to games and supporting their classmates. “I would love to be that school where the opposing side can’t wait to see the craZie section, but that time is not now,” said Greenwalt.
As football fades away, so do the craZies. Football seems to be one of the favorite sports at Faith Lutheran and not many people are getting in the craZie spirit for spring sports.
One reason for the empty stands at basketball, baseball, and lacrosse games could be that most of the craZies leaders play those sports so they are not organized craZie events. Senior Grant Gravitt said, “I just wished that people would make the effort I did for their sport, for mine.” If students start coming to more games, we can definitely raise the school spirit here at Faith Lutheran.
