Faith Lutheran Lacrosse is a thoroughly recognized program that upholds high standards, good coaching, and a strong brotherhood.
When it comes to Faith’s team, senior, and Captain Carson Schultz shared that his love for the sport comes from “the camaraderie that I experience on a day-to-day basis with my teammates.” From a young age, specifically around 3rd grade, he picked up the sport and followed along with it ever since. “I’ve been playing on a team for 8 years and it’s a very brotherhood-driven sport, especially at Faith.”
Carson mentioned that “being captain has helped me find a voice and I plan to leave faith with a legacy that my brother, but also future players can look up to.” However, it was never always perfect and Carson told me the position “has its moments of stress, especially because I was never a very vocal leader.” Every day, Carson continues to put in the effort to better himself as well as his teammates through his position as a captain.
Carson is a model Faith student and has maintained a 4.0 GPA his senior year, and as of recently, signed to play college lacrosse at Concordia Irvine. “I love the sport and Concordia was a great fit for me academically, spiritually, and athletically.” Concordia Irvine is located in Orange County, California and Carson plans on pursuing an engineering degree there. He is excited to play for a great program there and is looking forward to the new opportunities that will arise.
This year, the program is doing well and as of April 4, 2024, they are 5th overall in the state of Nevada. The group has had its ups and downs like every team, but Carson mentioned “we have brought more energy to practice and with a great OT win over Mira Costa, we plan to carry the momentum into the second half of our season.” Carson also said he and his team have been doing better and that “we need to improve our enthusiasm coming into practice and games…. And I believe we have done a great job rebounding.”
Carson has had a major impact on the way the Lacrosse team functions and holds the program’s standards up to a high degree. His work ethic, emotion, and perseverance has made Carson a star in the group and he continues to hold himself, and his teammates accountable for any problems they face.
