Life is Beautiful is a musical festival held every year in the month of September in Las Vegas, Nevada. The festival has music, artistry, food, and beverages experiences.
Many festival goers travel from around the world in order to attend this 3 day festival. This past year Life is Beautiful fell on the same weekend as Homecoming for Faith Lutheran. Faith Lutheran’s student council noticed this issue in the spring and quickly changed the date of the homecoming dance to the following week, which wasn’t too difficult for StuCO, said Mrs. Klemm, Student Council Director.
Unfortunately they could not change the football game. Many football players were upset about the news knowing that not many people would go to the homecoming football game and support them, said Mack Ford, varsity football player. Faith Lutheran football took the win against Sierra Vista beating them 10-0.
Student council gave it their all in order to make homecoming just as special this year, with moving the dance to the next weekend it allowed many more students to attend, enjoy, and have more school spirit. “Things were a little hard to plan and just having to split the two weeks up was difficult,” said Zohie Lopez Senior Class President.
Friday of the homecoming game student council held a pep assembly which announced the homecoming king and queen and special performances from the dance and cheer team. One week later Faith Lutheran gathered back into the arena for the annual homecoming lip sync battle, which the sophomores took the win.
Although Life is Beautiful fell during the same weekend, Faith Lutheran worked hard in order to have a night in wonderland at homecoming this past weekend, maxing out sales in tickets for students.
